Ted J. Duffield, 84, of Nodaway, formerly of Kellerton, died November 5, 2005, at Montgomery County Hospital in Red Oak.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 12, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Rick HAWKINS will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton. A memorial has been established in his name. After the burial, there will be a gathering for relatives and friends at the Kellerton Community Room.

Mr. Duffield, son of Pearl (Harris) and Ray Duffield, was born October 15, 1921, west of Kellerton. He graduated from Kellerton High School in 1938. He farmed south of Kellerton from 1946 to 1963, lived in Mountain Home, Ark., from 1963 to 1974, where he had a partnership in a boat and motor shop, and Creston from 1974 to 1985 and was a field clerk for Westinghouse Electric. He retired in 1986 to a farm near Nodaway. He was first commander of American Legion Post No. 676 in Kellerton. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945.

Survivors include a sister, Doris Gibson of Kellerton; two brothers, Tom (wife Joyce) Duffield of Lucas and Dennis (wife Janice) Duffield of Cedar Rapids; and six nieces and nephews, Joyce Kaster, Debbie Quinnell , Linda Auffert, LeAnn NeeL, Gary Duffield and Curt Duffield and families.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Leland DUFFIELD in Okinawa during World War II.
