EVANSTON - Funeral services for Melvin A. Brown, 84, will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at the Crandall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Evanston City Cemetery.



A visitation will take place on Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday.

He died Aug.1, 2007 at his home.

He was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Knight, a son to Herbert and Mabel Alice (Godber) Brown.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He was married to Mary Elane Perkins on July 3, 1945, in Evanston and she died on March 13, 1999.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He belonged to the American Legion and among his interests were irrigating, haying and cutting firewood with the family.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Gayle Cornelison, Evanston and Mary Jo Faddis, Rawlins; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and seven sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a brother, James Brown, sisters, Alice Brown, Violet Scovel, Dorothy Martin, May Blacker, and a granddaughter.

Services are under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home, Evanston.
