Ruth graduated from Kellerton high school. On May 5, 1938 she was united in marriage to Herbert "Junior" Harris at Stanberry, Missouri. The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage and had 3 children.
They lived on a farm west of Grand River, Iowa, until she moved to Terrace Park Assisted Care Living in Leon a month ago.
She was a farm wife, also owned and operated Y-Wire Kennels in Grand River for many years. She enjoyed bingo, fishing and traveling, including trips to the Southwest and a tour of Europe.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Junior on March 9, 1999 and a daughter Barbara Ann in infancy.
Funeral service were held Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr with Reverend Michael Drhul officiating.
