He and his Twin brother, Timmy, were born December 19, 1955, to Arthur and Jean (nee Roy) Huskey in St. Ignace, the first twins to be born at Mackinac Straits Hospital after it opened in 1954.
Mr. Huskey was graduated from LaSalle High School in 1974 and was a star football player. He also ran track, but was best known on the football field.
Mr. Huskey owned Tom Huskey Construction and Design and was well known in the community for his leadership of his crew, his work ethic, and his workmanship. His company had just finished restoration work at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and has begun installation of an elevator.
Mr. Huskey loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Huskey; three brothers and their families, Timmy Huskey, Wade Huskey, and Kit and Diane Huskey, all of St. Ignace; a sister and her family, Pamela and Tom Sutton, of Kinross; nieces and nephews and their families, Casey, Rashel, and Chance Morningstar, Krista, Rachel, and Tyler Huskey, and many aunts and uncles.
Mr. Huskey was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Huskey, in 1985, and by two brothers, Michael "Chipper" Huskey in 2004 and an infant, Roger, who was born and died in 1950.
Friends called at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church Friday, June 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. when Mass of Christian Burial took place with Father Al Mott, Deacon Tom McClelland, and Deacon Don Olmstead officiating.
