SEMI-WEEKLY INTERIOR JOURNAL, STANFORD, KY., FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1889
Mrs. Elizabeth Tinsley and youngest son, William M., some three or more years ago left a good home and farm in this section to try their fortunes on the elevated, airy plains of Western Kansas. Three fruitless attempts to raise a crop satisfied them with that section. They returned to the old farm last Thursday, several years older and wiser and somewhat sadder, with shorter pocketbooks by hundreds of dollars. "Bill Mose," as he is called, has grown a few feet taller, but lanker, and claims that he has had nothing to eat but jack rabbits since he left. He thinks that as soon as he gets plenty to eat, that he will improve in flesh.

Mother Follows Son
Mrs. Tinsley, the aged mother of Mrs. J. Eubanks, who lives on the Middleburg pike, just this side of the Casey line, died Friday and was laid to rest in the Elliott burying ground nearby on Sunday afternoon after services by Mr. J. C. McClary, of this city. She was nearly 80 years old and was a splendid woman. Her son, William Mose Tinsley, just over the line in Casey, was buried the day his mother died. The loss of mother and brother so close together is a terrible blow to Mrs. Eubanks, who has the sympathy of all in her great trouble.
