She died Wednesday at St. Helen's Hospital, Chehalis, Wash., while visiting a daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Doris) Pentecost.
Mrs. McWaid was born July 4, 1884 at Manhattan, and spent most of her life in this area, where she nursed for many years. Her parents, Mrs. And Mrs. W. W. Curtis, came to Montana from Wisconsin in a covered wagon. She was a member of the Sons and Daughters of Montana Pioneers.
She married Alva McWaid in January, 1915, and they homesteaded north of Manhattan. He preceded her in death. She had been living at her father's homestead southeast of Manhattan for a number of years prior to her death.
Besides her daughter in Washington, Mrs. McWaid is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William (Jean) Menzel, Belgrade; four sisters, Mrs. Laura K. Ballard and Mrs. Tom (Ouida) Campbell, both of Manhattan, Mrs. Queen Bly and Mrs. Charles (Mary) Sales, both of Bozeman; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Interment will be in the Meadowview Cemetery at Manhattan.
