She was born near Manhattan on November 14, 1886, daughter of W. W. and Annabelle (Cole) Curtis. She was the widow of George B. Ballard.
She lived in the Gallatin Valley all of her life until moving to Nebraska a year ago to live with her son. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Clyde Ballard, Chadron, Nebraska, and Irvine Ballard, Helena; one sister, Mrs. Charles Sales, Bozeman; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
