Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 20, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with the Rev. Joel Joyner officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Spires was born October 23, 1921, in Sparks, Ga., a son of the late Lacy C. Spires and Rosa LeViner Spires. He was employed with Jake Cole Trucking Company in Cook County, Ga. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Eloise Morris of Cordova and Mrs. Imogene Lassiter of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; six nieces; and three nephews.
Friends may call at the residence and at Thompson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
