ADEL — Funeral services for L.C. Spires were held at Evergreen Baptist Church Tuesday morning at 11:00. Mr. Spires was a well-known farmer, living west of Sparks and in the Evergreen Community. He had been a citizen here a number of years and was highly respected. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.M. Taylor, a former pastor of Evergreen Church and a close friend of the family. A large number of people gathered to pay a last tribute of respect to Mr. Spires. Interment was in the Rountree Cemetery near the church.
Mr. Spires is survived by his wife and several children and other relatives.
