He was born January 4, 1918 in Detroit, the son of Arthur and Ida (Schultz) Pogel.
He married Eva Hare October 22, 1938.
Pogel served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed with Bay City Shovels. He retired from the Caro State Hospital in 1977 where he was a nurse attendant. He was a member of the Unionville Moravian Church.
Pogel is survived by his wife, Eva; one son; 3 daughters and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Irvin Pogel.
Funeral and committal services were held Monday, January 15, at Moravian Church, Unionville, with Rev. Glenn Heintzelman officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the church or the American Kidney Foundation.
Arrangements were made by the Unionville Funeral Chapel, Unionville.
