The Tattnall Journal - March 14, 1918

W. Harley Lynn

Harley Lynn of near Collins passed away peacefully about 10:00 P.M. Monday, March 4. His condition had been considered hopeless since Tuesday, February 26th, when he underwent an operation for appendicitis.
He had been in bad health for sometime but was confined to his bed only a week.
He was known throughout the county as a generous, noble hearted man and was respected very much in his community where his bright, sunny face and cheering words are certain to be missed.
The funeral was conducted at the family cemetery under a large cluster of pines by the Rev. E.L. Harrison, of Collins. About three hundred people attended, including the faculty and students of the Collins High School which were dismissed for that purpose.
Mr. Lynn was 35 years old and is survived by his wife, Mrs. W.H. Lynn. His son, Walter Lynn, his daughters, Misses Lessie and Tressie Lynn of Collins. His father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Lynn of Collins, his brothers and one sister, J.J. Lynn, Jr., of Collins, J.L. Lynn, Jr., of Ludowici, and Mrs. C.C. Mosley of Collins.

A Nephew

Note- obituary was printed in the 3/14/18 on page 1 edition. It appears this may have been published in the Journal a year after his death or the date of death on headstone is incorrect.
