On April 21, 1896, John Fehr married Anna Kinderman at Saint Bernards Church in the North End neighborhood of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Later in their marriage, they moved to Saint Paul's East Side. Four of their children, Frank, Anna, Julius, and Anthony lived to adulthood. Frank was serving overseas with the U.S. Army in France during WWI when John died. Sometime later, John's wife, Anna married John Sedin.
