My gg grandfather Charles Pauth was born about August 1843 in Little Falls, New York. His father's name is possibly Charles also, his mother's maiden name was possibly Seckner. We suspect his ancestors are from Germany, as the earliest Pauth record is from the ship Fox manifest list that fist settled in Pennsylvania.

In 1865 he was single and a boarder residing in the household of Nancy Nash, widow of Daniel Nash, and Nancy's son Joshua Nash and her daughter Jane.

Charles was a Civil War Union Soldier, 152nd Regiment, Company K, New York Volunteers.

After the war he married Belle Mansfield 3 September 1866 in Little Falls, NY according to his Civil War Pension File. Belle, also known as Asabella and Bella.

Father of Anna (Pauth) Leon, Eugene Pauth, Alvie Pauth, Miner Pauth, and Eunice (Pauth) Goodrich.
