Valerie was the only child born to this union.
She graduated from Johnson High School.
She was united in marriage on Aug. 26, 1942 at St. Paul (Hickory Grove)Lutheran Church to Albert Wilhelm Holthus. They had 4 children.
After their marriage they lived near Elk Creek and Johnson.
She enjoyed doing emroidery although she was crippled with arthrites since 1954.
She passed away having reached the age of 65 years, 8 months and 25 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to mourn her passing are her husband. Albert Holthus of Elk Creek, Ne. 4 children. Larrry Holthus of Auburn, Kenneth Holthus of Elk Creek and his fiance, Sandy Winterfield, Mrs. Sharon Martin and her husband, David of Arlington, TX. and Velda Holthus of Walnut Creek, CA. 2 grandchildren, Crystal and rayn Martin, one step-sister, Dorothy Swett, one ste;-brother, LaVerne Hoops of Wichita, KS.
Funeral services were held June 23 at St. Johns Lutheran(Stone) Church, rural Auburn, NE.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
