John Green Sams 86 of Ryland Heights , passed away May 10, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. He was a retired Freight Car Repairman for L & N Railroad. He was a member of the Locust Pike Pentecostal Church of God in Covington. He is survived by his wife Lorraine Sams of Ryland Heights. Daughters Diana Vance, Georgia Henson and Almeda Plogman all of Covington. Sons John Sams of Covington, Wade Sams of FL, and Donald Sams of TX. Sister Almeda Roland of Covington. Brothers Henry and Chester Sams both of Covington. 10 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
Visitation will be held Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home, Alexandria from 10am-3pm. Services will begin at 3pm. Burial will follow at Peach Grove Cemetery.
