Funeral services for Effie Peyton were held at the Methodist church in Troy Mills Wednesday, May 11. The Rev. Clyde Scott of Springville officiated and burial was in Troy Mills Cemetery. Mrs. Peyton died at the Marinson Nursing Home in Marion, Iowa, May 9th. She was born June 3, 1880 in Riverton, Nebraska, the daughter of Abraham and Angeline Betzer Reece. When she was three months old the family moved to the Troy Mills vicinity. She married Peter Betzer at Marion, Iowa November 1, 1899. She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. B.C. (Sarah) Pinkerton, Waterloo; Mrs. Jay (Dora) Thomassen, Chicago; Mrs. Darold (Nellie) Ayers, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Ted (Lucille) Doyl, rural Walker; three sons, George, Marion: Ted, Troy Mills, and Karl, Toddville; 25 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. she was preceded by her parents, husband, two sons, two sisters, and one brother. The Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Earl Peyton, Marvin Reece, Vernon Reece, Don Sauer, Harry Powell,Sr. and Ralph Oldridge.
