Polly S. Golden, 84, of Waco, died Friday, October 4, 2002, at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, October 7 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Dan White officiating. Visitation with the family will be 4:00-6:00PM Sunday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd.

Mrs. Golden was born March 30, 1918 in Fannin County to Paul and Avis Belle Suddath. She graduated from Trinity University in Waxahachie in 1938 and received her Masters Degree in education from Baylor University in 1968. She was a teacher and guidance counselor for 23 years for the Waco Independent School District.

Mrs. Golden was a member of Columbus Ave. Baptist Church for 54 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor, friend and teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lee Golden, in 1992.

Survivors include daughter SuEllen Golden Wilson and husband John of Dallas; sons, Dr. John G. Golden and wife Beverly of San Antonio; Stephen S. Golden of Gruene; grandchildren, Laura Wilson Cornett and husband Tony of Dallas, Elizabeth Golden Wilson of Dallas, John H. Wilson IV of Lima, Peru, Jennifer Golden Hopkins and husband Mark of San Antonio, Polly Golden of San Antonio, and John G. Golden, Jr. of San Antonio; great grandchildren, Alexandra and Chloe Cornett; sister Jerre Talbert and husband Wallace of Hurst; niece, Susan Talbert Gamso of Dallas, and nephew, John W. Talbert of Fort Worth.
