Born and raised in Leonard, Texas. Graduated from Leonard High School, graduated from East Texas State and taught school; then graduated from Univ. Texas Law School in 1938. Served as Special Agent for the FBI for 27 years, with most time spent in Waco, TX. Retired from the FBI in 1968 and practiced family law with Clark and Clark Attorneys in Waco until his death. He was an active member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church since 1947 and was a deacon. He was also a member of the Lions Club and many other civic organizations.
