Civil War Confederate Army Officer. Served as Assistant Adjutant General to Confederate Major General Patrick R. Cleburne. He had initially served as a Private in the 7th Virginia Infantry, then been assigned to the staff of General P.G.T. Beauregard. He served with General Cleburne until he was severely wounded in the Battle of Jonesboro, Georgia on September 1st, 186, which caused him to miss the Battle of Franklin that claimed Cleburne's Life. After the Civil War, Irving Buck went back to Front Royal and became a leading Citizen, Mason, and Confederate Veteran leader. He wrote "Cleburne and his Command", the first biography of General Cleburne.
