Mr. Bobby Snell, age 66, of Mapleton, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011. He was born July 28, 1944 in Houston County and had lived all of his lifetime in Houston County. Mr. Snell was a member of the Austonio Baptist Church, a farmer for all of his life, a long time basketball referee, Co-founder of Lovelady Little league, baseball coach, Austonio 4-H Leader, former Lovelady ISD School Board member, current Board Member of Consolidated Water Board, honorary Lovelady FFA member, first President of the Austonio Community Center, and a former member of the Austonio Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include wife, Gloria Snell of Mapleton; son, Keith Snell and wife, Sandy of Snook; daughter, Tonya Patton and husband, Randy of San Antonio; grandchildren, Sylvia McCammon and husband, Matt of Southaven, Mississippi, Kelsey Patton of San Antonio, Kyler Patton of San Antonio, Whitney Snell of Snook, T. J. Snell of Snook; mother, Myrl Snell of Crockett, special father figure, Jake Caprielian and wife, Jill of Crockett; sister-in-law, Liz Snell of Palestine; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and all of the 7J Family; preceded in death by father, Charlie Snell and two brothers.
Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Snell will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Austonio Baptist Church with Rev. Ottis Byers and Rev. Harold Shirley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mississippi Hill Cemetery.
