AUD M. LEDFORD
Aud Matney Ledford, 78, of Edgewood Road, died unexpectly Thursday en rout to an Asheville hospital.
A native of Clay County and a Buncombe resident for 47 years, Mr. Ledford was an army veteran of World War II, a former member of the Asheville Checker Club and a member of the Hayesville United Methodist Church. He was retired from Ledford's Pansy Gardens.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alma Rogers Ledford; four sons, Kenneth R. and Derek A. of Asheville and John B. and Phillip L. Ledford of Arden; a brother, Lucius Ledford of Andrews; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Holt Madison and Mace Honeycutt will officiate. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Donnie McMahan and Audie Lee, Larry, Gary, John Corbin and Kenneth Ledford, Jr. (Obit provided by Cindy Womble Billman)
