Ralph E. Cain, 68, of 247 Bernice Ave., Martinsburg, W.Va., died Wednesday, July 24, 1991 in the VA Medical Center.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with Company B, 142nd Infantry, 36th Division, U.S. Army, as a staff sergeant. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Bronze Star for bravery.

He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.

He was a member of Newton D. Baker Post 896, V.F.W; Berkeley Post 14, American Legion; Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of Moose; former member of Pikeside Ruritan Club; and a member of the church and VA bowling leagues.

He is survived by two sons, Douglas Cain of Tarentum, Pa., and H. Dennis Cain of Louisville, Ky; one sister, Nellie Lutman of Hancock, Md; one brother, Joseph Cain of Martinsburg; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services were at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, at the Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Edwin M. Wray and the Rev. Dr. Howard I. Fulk officiated. Burial was in Pleasant View memory Gardens with military graveside services by Newton D. Baker Post 896, VFW.
