Mary Jane Lloyd
One of the earth's brightest jewels has returned home to her Father in Heaven. On May 12, 2011, Mary Jane Lloyd passed away in Oxnard, California, where she and her husband had been living with her daughter Gloria.

Born Mary Jane Brown on October 28, 1923 to Katherine and Henry Brown in Ogden, Utah, she married Forest Harper Lloyd May 26, 1943 in the Salt Lake temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This month on the 26th, they will have been married 68 years.

Mary Jane is survived by her beloved husband Forest, currently of Oxnard, California; two brothers, H. Grant Brown of Hemet, California and Frank Preston of Pierce City, Missouri; four daughters, Gloria Stokes of Oxnard, California, Janean Hughey of Wendover, Nevada, Susan Escujuri of Richland, Oregon, Christa Johnson of Fair Oaks, California and a son, Russell B Lloyd of Boise, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Coleen Marie, who passed away at birth, and a son, Samuel Graig Lloyd, who died in an automobile accident at the age of 28. She leaves 37 grandchildren and 58 great grandchildren.

Mary Jane was multi-talented. She could dance, sing, and had a flair for writing poetry and plays which she produced and directed. She could decorate wedding cakes, wedding receptions, and could make floral bouquets for brides and corsages for all occasions. With her husband, she also designed and built two separate parade floats for the Ogden Days parade, for which they received trophies. Mary Jane and Forest spent many hours volunteering at the Golden Hours Senior Center in Ogden.

She loved to travel with her husband Forest. They enjoyed 2 trips to Hawaii, one cruise to Mexico, and one to the Caribbean. They also traveled through most of the USA and Canada in their truck and camper.

Mary Jane is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership positions in the Church. Her faith in her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ was almost tangible. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service for Mary Jane will be on Friday, May 20, 2011, at 12:00 noon at the Pleasant Valley Stake Center, 5640 South 850 East in So. Ogden.
