Miss Isbell was born Sept. 24, 1927, in Tennessee to Lifus Columbus Isbell Sr. and Betty E. Kilpatrick Isbell.
She was a lifetime resident of Arab area and a member of Westside Baptist Church. Before her retirement she worked as a lunchroom cook at Arab Junior High School and also at the old Arab Nursing Home, now Golden Living Center where she resided for the past several years.
She is survived by two sisters and brother-in-law: Sally and Lester McElroy of Covington, La. and Ruth Holaway of Arab; sister-in-law: Joyce Isbell of Arab; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by nine brothers and three sisters.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Bright officiating. Burial was in Gilliam Springs Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
Pallbearers were Cecil Isbell, David Isbell, Don Isbell, Nolan Isbell, Carlton Peppers and Alan Silvey.
