My gg-grandmother, Mary Judson Whaley, the 4th of 5 children born to Thomas Jefferson Whaley (1800-1872) and Mary Eppes Moss (1805-1848), married my gg-grandfather, JAMES H. BEDDO on 11 February 1854 at the age of 19 in Sparta,Hancock Co., Georgia.
They had 3 children:
(1) Sarah Augusta "Gussie" Beddo Wheeler (1858-1925);
(2) Mary Moss "Mossie" Beddo (1859-1926) and
(3) Clara Eugenia Beddo Cook (1859-1928) (my g-grandmother).

Mary's husband died just 5 months after he enlisted in the Confederate Army in Georgia at the battle of Santa Rosa Island, Florida, where the confederates attempted to take the Union-held Fort Pickens on October 9, 1861, leaving her a widow with 3 daughters.

Mary never re-married and died at the age of 49 in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas.

Would love to communicate with other descendants of this family.
