Dorothy O. Young passed away in Provo, Utah at Utah Valley Medical Center on November 24, 2003 after suffering a massive stroke.
Dorothy was born January 17, 1920 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Wilbert and Margaret Olsen.
She graduated from Spanish Fork High School and later completed beauty college.
She married Lars Gus Nelson, who died in 1962.
She married LeGrande Young in 1964.
After retiring from 28 years service with Mountain States Telephone, she and LeGrande traveled extensively through Europe, Asia, Mexico, and other countries.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, LeGrande, daughters Sandy Jacobson and Nanci (Jay) McCalister, stepchildren Michael (Stephanie) Young, Allen (Mary) Young, and Patty (Kenny) Hulce; her brothers Ferris (Ruth) Olsen and Jerry (Colleen) Olsen, 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Max, Derald, and Lynn Olsen.
Dorothy was a beautiful and sweet lady who appreciated and contributed to all the beauty that life offered.
She loved and adored her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and demonstrated that love every day in every way she could.
We will miss you, Grandma Dorothy, but we know you will always be here with us in our hearts and through the wonderful memories we cherish.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Sharon 6th Ward Chapel, 545 S. 800 E. in Orem.
Friends may call from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the ward chapel.
Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
