Ferris left this earthly existence on April 17, 2010.

He was born at Spanish Fork, Utah on August 10, 1918 to Wilbert and Margaret Furlong Olsen.

Ferris married Lenora Ashton who previously passed away on February 12, 1970. He married Ruth Frazier Olsen five years after Lenora's death.

After serving in the United States Air Force as a pilot during World War II, Ferris returned to Provo, Utah and worked at US Steel Corporation in Orem, Utah for thirty-two years as an electrician prior to retiring.

His interest in baseball and basketball resulted in many hours of practicing and coaching his two sons Randy and Larry. The tradition carried down to his grand children and great grand children. Ferris enjoyed watching the younger generation play and giving them tips on how to improve their game.

Ferris enjoyed traveling with his wife Ruth and LeGrande and Dorothy Young. They enjoyed many happy times together. He spent time gardening and enjoying Ruth's and his cats Goofuss and Buttons. The cats were kings and queens of the house.

Ferris is survived by his wife, Ruth Frazier Olsen, residing in Orem, UT; son and daughter Larry Olsen and Shauna Olsen Blount residing in Salt Lake City, UT, and Atlanta, GA respectively, and one brother Jerry Olsen of Denver, CO. His son Randy Olsen and wife Lenora have previously deceased. He is also survived by his step children Ruth Ann Frazier Bales, Pleasant Grove, UT; Sandra Frazier Trepanier, Lehi, UT; Karen Frazier, Pleasant Grove, UT; Kevin Frazier, Orem, UT; and Leon Frazier, Pleasant Grove, UT. The number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren are too many to count. He loved them all.
