Married Anna Katherine Rosche on September 21, 1868, in Wisconsin. Henry and Anna Rosche had 6 children: Unnamed baby born 1869; Anna b 1869 married Henry Meyer; Sarah b 1871 married August Schmidt on December 27, 1893; Henry A. born 1875 married Eliesse Witte; Carl born 1878; and William born 1884 married Grace Daniels.

After Anna Roesche died, Henry married Jane Mary Witte (or Hible ?) on January 4, 1889, in Blue Earth County, Minnesota. She died not long after they were married. No children known from the union to Mary Jane.

The "Hofelman Brothers" were blacksmiths and gunsmiths.

Heinrich Hofelman died at his home in Jasper, June 23, 1900 of enlargement of the liver. He was born at Aldenburg (Oldenburg), Germany, March 12, 1840. He learned the blacksmith trade with his father. At age 21 enlisted as Substitute in the German army and served in the war of 1866. In 1867 (August 12 on the ship Weser) he landed in New York City, from there he went to Horicon, Wis., where he followed his trade. In 1869 he was married to Anna Rosche and then moved to Minnesota Lake, Minn. He started a black smith shop and remained there until summer of 1872 when he and his brother Henry came to Luverne Minn and started a blacksmith shop known as Hofelman Bros. until 1886 when he started farming in Mount township until March 1900 when he sold his land and moved to Jasper until his death.
Note: His MN death record has his birth as 19 Sept. 1839.

In 1887 his wife died and in 1889 married Othila Whitte. 5 children from first union living Heinrich A, Carl, Willie, Sarah and Anna reside in this county. H.A. (Henry A.) lives near Flandrau SD.
