He was employed in the yard department of Pennsylvania Power and Light Co. 1929 - 70 before retiring.
Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Matz.
He was past president of both the Pennsylvania Fish and Game Association and the Northampton County Game Federation.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carl Ackerman of Hellertown; two sons, Charles W. of Bethlehem and Robert A. of Schenectady, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Cylena Konrad and Sarah, both of Bethlehem; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Wallace M. Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
