Gerald M. Young of Oklahoma City, born in Marion, Indiana, December 21, 1904. He graduated in 1927 from Kansas State with a degree in mechanical engineering. Was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon social faternity. Mr. Young organized Young Exploration Company in 1933 and served as its president until he retired. His company was one of the first seismic drilling companies in the world and at the time of his death, the largest. Was a long time member of Crown Heights Christian Church where he once served as a deacon. A member of the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, the Touchdown Club and the Mayfair Club.
Survivors are his wife, Ione Pool Young of the home; sons, Gerald H. Young of Oklahoma City, Martin G. Young of Boulder Colorado; a sister, Gerdine Seeley of Topeka, Kansas; grandchildren, Gerald M. Young II, Howard K. Young, Corby M. Young, Elizabeth K. Young, Catherine A. Young, Mary C. Young, Samuel M. Young, Anne Elizabeth Young, Jenna Elizabeth Young. He died August 10, 1985 after a long illness. Services are at2pm, Monday, Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel with entombment in Rose Hill Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Desease and Related Disorders Association, Chicago Illinois.
