Grace Viola Mitchell of Hillsboro died of causes related to age Saturday in her home. She was 86.
A graveside service was Monday in Hopewell Mennonite Cemetery in Hubbard, followed by a memorial service in the Church of the Nazarene of Hillsboro.
Mrs. Mitchell, whose maiden name was Lais, was born July 29, 1907, in Hubbard. She was raised in the Molalla area.
In 1925, she married Kenneth Mishler, who died in 1926. In 1928, she married Elton Newman. In 1951, she married B.L. Mitchell, and the couple moved to Vernonia and later to Woodburn. After her husband's death in 1986, Mrs. Mitchell moved to Hillsboro.
She was a member of Church of the Nazarene of Hillsboro.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Mishler of Hillsboro and Rod Newman of Missoula, Mont.; daughter, Nell Hughes of Baker City; brothers, Ralph Lais of Woodburn, Bert Lais of Oregon City and Art Lais of Illinois; sisters, Mabel Burkhart of Portland, Mildred Webb of Sweet Home and Blanche Warnock of Salem; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to Church of the Nazarene of Hillsboro's music department.

She married Kenneth Marvin Mishler in 1925 and he died in 1926.
On Oct. 29, 1928, she married Elton H. Newman and in July 1951 she married to B. L. Mitchell and they moved to Vernonia.
After they retired, they moved to Woodburn and lived there until Mr. Mitchell died in 1986, when she moved to Hillsboro to live with a granddaughter.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Hillsboro.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Mishler, Hillsboro, and Rod Newman, Missoula, Mont.; a daughter, Nell Hughes, Baker City, 17 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Ralph Lais, Woodburn, Bert Lais, Oregon City, and Art Lais, of Illinois; and three sisters, Mabel Burkhart, Portland, Mildred Webb, Sweet Home, and Blanche Warnock, Salem.
