Parents were John Simpson & Rebecca White and he was born in Georgia.

TS served in Captain Fernandez' Mounted Supply Unit in Florida during the Civil War.

In 1875 TS and his family came from Florida to Galveston TX via boat. From Galveston, they rode a train to Luling and then hired a man with a wagon to take them to Wilson County where they settled near the Cibolo River. TS Simpson was instrumental in the building of the Wilson County Courthouse in 1884 and his name is found on the Cornerstone of the courthouse. He was County Commissioner at the time the courthouse was built.
