AMERICAN FORK — Elias Edwards, 75, of 148 W. 4th N. died Saturday night at his residence of a heart attack.
He was born April 24, 1886, in Meadow, a son of Robert and Sarah Greenhalgh Edwards. He married Mary Peterson, Feb. 4, 1912, at Meadow. She died Dec. 18, 1941. He married Tiney Ware, March 23, 1957, at Ely, Nev.
He was a retired steel worker and helped to build Geneva Steel in 1942. He retired in May, 1961.
Survivors include his wife; four sons and one daughter: Harold Edwards, American Fork; Gale Edwards, Fillmore; Clayton Edwards, Kearns; Melvin Edwards, Provo, and Mrs. Van (Margaret) Baldwin, Salt Lake City; three stepsons and three stepdaughters: Earl Preece, Granger; Glen Preece, Salt Lake City; Sheldon Preece, San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. D. E. (Dona) Winchester, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Dale (Wonda) Roberts, Salt Lake City; Mrs. DeVon (LaVon) Seeley, Honolulu; 29 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother and two sisters: John F. Edwards, Fillmore; Mrs. George (Margaret) Greener, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Sara E. Stewart, Meadow.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., in the American Fork Third-lOth LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday until 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m., in the Fillmore City Cemetery at Fillmore.
