Ann was born about 1731, possibly in Louisa or Hanover County. She was a daughter of Robert Lewis (~1704–1784) and Jane Meriwether (~1705– bef 1757).
She married John Lewis (1729–1780), son of Zachary Lewis and Mary Waller, about 1745. They were the parents of five: John Zachary, Robert, Nicholas, Jane, and Mary. Nicholas and Robert "went west, all traces lost". The others married and had issue. A partial Bible transcript states Nicholas was born in 1748 and died in Jefferson County, Kentucky. Her sister Mildred married Maj. John Lewis.
