Betty Virginia Knight, 73, Stillwater, died in her home Saturday, Jan.19, 2002. Services will be Tuesday at 2 pm in StrodeChapel. Interment will be at Lawson Cemetery in Yale under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.
Knight was born in Stillwater Nov. 6, 1928, to Harold J. and Irene Dunn (Marx) Bingaman.
She was married to Joe Richard Pate, who died in 1964; Joe Wesley Lewis, who died in 1972; and John Matthew Knight, who died in 1994.
She attended Eagle School and graduated from Yale High School. She got married and lived in Yale before moving to Stillwater. She then moved to Pampa, Texas, for five years. She returned to Stillwater and worked as a secretary and treasurer for Cowboy Construction. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and family. She was a very good homemaker and loving mother.
She was predeceased by her parents; three husbands; one daughter, Betty Jo Kinkaid; and one grandson, Jody Pate.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky Jack Pate, Stillwater, and Steven Shane Pate and his wife, Kathy of Maramec; one daughter, Susan K. Gniech and her husband, Roland of Tulsa; one step-son, Johnny Knight, Perkins; two step-daughters, Betty Mae Knight, Kentucky, and Dotty Beams, Ardmore; one brother, John Bingaman and his wife Sally, Yale; one sister, Nancy and her husband, J.D. McFarlin, Cushing; 16 grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren.
