Michael C. Magestro, 69, of New Brighton, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Heritage Valley, Beaver.
Born December 17, 1941, in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Rev. Charles Magestro and Angelina (Greco) Magestro. He was a 1959 graduate of New Brighton High School. Michael enjoyed playing golf on Wednesday and Thursday nights with his friends. He also enjoyed the annual Getaway Golf League outing. He was a former member of the Oak Hill Vets and the New Brighton Eagles. Michael played softball for various beaver county softball leagues. He was employed by J&L Steel for 30 years as a carpenter, was Protestant by faith, and loved family beach vacations.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Carol Snyder and Fran Magestro.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Donna Lee (Zarrillo) Magestro; three children and their spouses, Leigh Ann and Timothy Kalcevic, New Brighton; Michael D. and Sabra Magestro, Lafayette, OR; Nancy Lynn and Matthew Popovich, Harrison City, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Samantha and Steven Kalcevic, New Brighton; Brittney and Kaylee Magestro, Lafayette, OR; Jacob, Christopher, and Olivia Popovich, Harrison City, Pa.; two brothers, Richard Magestro and his companion, Penny, Rochester, and Kenneth Magestro and his companion, Lisa, Beaver; one sister-in-law, Kathy Snowden; two brothers-in-law, Lee Snyder and Richard Snowden.
Private interment in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
