The family lived in City Ward #2 on Holland Street, House #211; in the 1930 Federal Census.

He was killed by a very mean one-armed man named John Edwin Stokes of Dog Town for no reason. Stokes accepted and was sentenced to prison for fifteen years for his crime and he would see Mr. B's face in his dinner plate and everywhere he went until it drove him out of his mind. Stokes died in prison. Samuel was about 4 and Pauline was about a month old when Mr. Vee died.
