Harriet Julia Crutchfield, 81, of Moberly died this morning at 7:58 o'clock in Woodland Hospital. She had been in failing health some time.
Born Jan. 18, 1898, in Chicago, Ill., she was a daughter of Charles T. and Alma Nise Wippern.
Mrs. Crutchfield had lived in Moberly the past 55 years, coming here from St. Louis. She was reared by her grandfather Judge P.H. Nise. She and her husband the late Joseph T. Crutchfield, owned and operated the former Country Club Tavern on the corner of Fifth and Coates, Moberly, a number of years. She was a member of Central Christian Church.
Surviving are one son, Charles H. Bybee, St. Charles; one daughter, Miss Mary V. Bybee, Moberly; with whom she lived; one grandson, Terry Bybee, St. Charles; and one great-granddaughter, Heather Leigh Bybee, also of St. Charles.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Million-Taylor Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald Mattson of Central Christian Church in charge. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday.
