Services for Benard Charley Rhame Sr., 50, a longshoreman, will be at 3:30 p.m. today at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert C. Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Mr. Rhame died Sunday in the John Sealy Hospital emergency room in Galveston.

He was born March 18, 1933, in Forest Hill, La. to the union of Ada and Noah J. Rhame. He was a member of ILA Local No. 307, he had lived in Galveston since 1949 and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carolyn Rhame of Galveston; a son, Lee D. Rhame Sr. of La Marque; two daughters, Cynthia Moffitt and Donna Jo Bekkema , both of Galveston: two brothers, Kenneth W. Rhame of Hankamer and Olean E. Rhame of Pearland; four sisters, Erna Mae Dugat of Sourlake, Vera Chevalier of Alexandria, La., Velma Standley of Jena, La., and Edna Sparks of Georgetown, Ohio; six grandchildren, Joseph W. Moffitt Jr., Douglas W. Bekkema , Melissa Bekkema, Steven C. Moffitt, Melissa M. Rhame and Lee D. Rhame Jr.; nieces; and nephews.

Pallbearers will be members of Galveston ILA Local No. 307. Memorials may be seat to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Bell Fund. Visitors may call at the funeral home after 7:30 a.m. today.
