Services for Rudolph Rance Rhame Sr., 53, a retired longshoreman, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home in Galveston, the Rev. Robert C. Berry officiating. Burial will be at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Mr. Rhame died Monday at Memorial Hospital in Lufkin.

He was born July 18,1929 in Forest Hill, La to the union of Ada L and Noah Rhame. Mr. Rhame retired from Longshoreman's Local 307 of Galveston following 34 years of service. A Galveston resident since 1947, Mr. Rhame moved to Zavalla in 1981.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Rhame of Zavalla; two sons, Rudolph Rance Rhame Jr. and Ronald Craig Rhame, both of Galveston; a son-in-law, Charles R. Hansen of Galveston: two daughters, Sharon Lyn Rhame Hansen of Galveston and Susan Lee Rhame of Houston; and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth M. Rhame of Galveston. Three brothers, Kenneth Rhame of Hankamer, Texas, Olean Rhame of Pearland and Benard Rhame of Galveston; four sisters, Vera Chevalier of Alexandria, La., Velma Standley of Jena, La., Erna Mae Dugat of Sour Lake, Texas, and Edna Sparks of Cincinnati; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Lyn Hansen, Charles Russell Hansen and Dawn Elizabeth Rhame, also survive. Visitors may call at the funeral home after noon today.
