My great-grandmother, Louise Kate Stone, one of nine children born in Canada to Americans Benjamin Stone and Sarah Ann Royall, returned to the central Maine area with her mother and several siblings upon the death of her father in 1864. She married Nehemiah Lee, as his third wife, when she was 19 and he was 46. Nehemiah and Louise had seven children. Her tombstone inscription: "As a star that is lost, when the daylite is given, Seh hath faded away to shine brightly in heaven." --Elizabeth Lee Crosby Simpson
