Charles Drew Brown was born 22Nov1838 in Abersychan, Monmouthshire, Wales. He was the son of Ann Brown (Stephens) and Charles Brown. He married Rachel Morgan (1838-1902) on 18May1859 in Abergavenney, Monmouthshire, Wales.

They immigrated to America in 1864 and made their home in Pennsylvania to earn enough money to continue their journey to Utah. They arrived in Utah in the fall of 1866.

Charles died on 10Oct1914 in Sandy, Utah. He is interred in the Sandy City Cemetery next to his wife Rachel.
