Connie Opelt, 84, of Hillside Convalescent Center, 233 University Ave., died Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Estherville.
Mrs. Opelt was born in Champion [Champaign, IL] and had lived in Des Moines since 1968. She was a retired in-home practical nurse.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Waterloo and Buddy of Duluth, Minn.; a sister, Emily Roetman of Lake Park; a brother, Rolland Elkin of Wall Lake; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
