W. T. Yeargain, aged 93, died in Gilmer Township last night. Was a member of the State Legislature in 1865. W.T. Yeargain who came to Adams county in the fall of 1831 from Kentucky, and who had lived here ever since, died last night at his home in Gilmer where he lived with his two daughters. He was aged 93, and attended to his farm work up until just recently, being active for a man of his advanced years. He was a brother of M.M. Yeargain, of 1655 Vermont street, this city, the latter being in feeble health, and an invalid for several years past. The deceased was widely known through the county and many will learn of his death with surprise, for it was hoped and thought that the age would be 100. He was born November 3, 1815, in Jefferson county Ky. and came to this county, as stated above, in 1831. He married Elizabeth B. Laughlin and they had twelve children. Since 1833 the deceased had been a member of the M.E. church and he was a good man and highly esteemed citizen. He was a member of the state legislature in 1865 and had held several township offices. The family is among the earliest settlers of this county. The Quincy Daily Journal, 19 Jul 1909, Pg. 12
