Mr. French was a native of Newton County, MS, and moved to the Coast in 1947. He was a civilian aircraft technician for the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was in the laundry/dry cleaning business for 34 years. He was a developer for Eagle Point Subdivision and French Utilities.
Mr. French was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Miller French; his parents, William Harper and Exah Wall French; a grandson, B.J. French; a brother, Clinton French; and a sister, Ruth Taylor.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William M. and Barbara French of Biloxi; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue F. and Steve Davis of San Francisco, CA; a sister, Gladys Roberson of Union, MS; two grandchildren, Kim Morgan and husband, Terry, and Suzanne Feeney; and four great-grandchildren, Addie and Emily Morgan, and Elizabeth and Gracie Feeney.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 Tuesday evening at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today in the funeral home chapel, followed by burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Gulfport.
