Mahronri Moriancumer Bishop was the son of William Henry Bishop (1821-1884) and Eliza Pratt Bishop (1819-1895). He was born in Mt. Pisga, Pottawattamie County, Iowa.

He married Jeanett (Jannett) Brunson June 15, 1882 in the L.D.S. Endowment House in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah.

The date of his burial is July 24, 1910.

Mount Pisgah was a semi-permanent settlement or way station from 1846 to 1852 along the Mormon Trail between Garden Grove and Council Bluffs. It is located near the small community of Thayer in Jones Township, Union County, Iowa.
Today, the old campsite is a nine-acre park. The site contains interpretive wayside exhibits, historical markers and a reconstructed log cabin.
