Eliza daughter of Elizabeth Roberts 1782-1867 of New Hampshire & Nehemiah Pratt 1783-1855 of Vermont.
Eliza was the ninth child of eleven children she was born February 8, 1819 at Ripley, Chautauqua, New York. Her family moved from New York to Laport Indiana, where Eliza met William Henry Bishop, a blacksmith.

Eliza married William Henry Bishop Mar 21 1841 in La Porte, La Porte Indiana. They were sealed in the Original Nauvoo Temple 6 February 1846.
Their ten children:
Mary Elizabeth Bishop Duggins 1841-1906
Vesta Lucetta Bishop Twitchell 1843-1923;
William Sylvanus Bishop 1845-1847
Joseph Franklin Bishop 1846-1847
Mahonri M Bishop 1848-1910
Penelope Bishop Wixom 1850-1871
Eliza Eldula Bishop 1853-1883.
Nelson Spicer Bishop 1855-1919
Heber Layfeyette Bishop 1857-1933
Savalla Bishop Melville 1859-1942
The last three were born in Fillmore, Utah.

Eliza was a Pioneer and traveled with William Henry Bishop and their children to Utah in 1850.

Eliza was later described as a good wife, and affectionate mother and friendly neighbor. Eliza learned tailoring. She washed, picked and carded the wool, spun it into thread, wove it into cloth and made clothes for her family. She also made the tops of shoes and then had a shoemaker put the soles on them.
