d. aft 1880

Silas removed to New York with the family about 1807, married Clarissa and had a son there; and then removed to Pennsylvania where the rest of the children were born.

1828: Living in NY (Sidney Samuel b. 1828)

1831: Living in Erie County, PA. Silas had a contract to build locks on the canal in Erie County. He founded Lock Port (now Platea), building a store and other structures

Businesses were booming, but local government wasn't supportive to the families. I actually hadn't found anything in the way of appointments to positions. And do to the lack of paperwork, I would say there was not a town clerk. Silas' business had failed by 1849, and all the families seemed to scatter with many heading out west.

Children born at PA:

Elizabeth b. 1831, Greenfield
Silas Amos Jr b. 1833, Greenfield
Sarah Eliza b. abt 1835, Erie County
Clarissa Ann, b. 1838, Erie County
Edson Noble b. 1840, Girard

1850: Living with brother John in Noble, La Porte, IN

1860: Whiteford, Monroe, MI

1865-1870: Living in Lincoln, Lancaster, NE

1880: Living in Greeley, KS Silas was living with his son, Sidney, and his wife, Cornelia, when he passed away. It is unknown if he was put in a hospital for an illness in a nearby town; the paperwork had stopped after 1880, Greeley, Anderson, KS when Silas was 76 years of age.
