OBITUARY
Clara A. Crandell was born in Canada September 23, 1846, and departed this life at her home in LaBelle, Mo. Nov. 13, 1924, at the age of 78 years, 1 month, and 20 days.
She was the youngest daughter of the late Abbott and Mary Crandell and was the last of her immediate family, three sisters and two brothers having preceded her to the great beyond.
She came with her parents to Missouri at an early age, locating near Canton. Most of her life was spent in northeast Mo., with the exception of a few years residence in Maybank Texas.
On December 11, 1865, she was united in marriage to Levi H. Barrows. To this union seven children were born, two sons, Oscar and George having died in infancy. She is survived by her aged companion and the following children Mrs. J. D. Moore of Newark, Mo., T.A. Barrows of Kahoka, Mo.; Guy Barrows of Dallas City, Ill.; Hubert H. Barrows of San Bernandino, Calif.; and LeRoy C. Barrows of Corpus Christi, Texas. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Barrows was a member of the Congregational Church at Honey Creek having resided here a number of years. Though she had never affiliated with any other church after leaving Clark Co., she lived a consistent Christian life by exemplifying the teachings of the blessed Savior by her everyday walks of life.
She had been in poor health for several years but the end came unexpectedly while sitting in her chair conversing with her husband. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 10 at the home, conducted by Rev. Lewis of the M.E. church. Interment in the LaBelle cemetery. A large concourse of relatives and friends were present to pay their last tribute of respect to one who was dearly loved. May God comfort the sorrowing ones.
