Anton Aberson, age 99, of Alton, died July 12, 1994 in Alton. Funeral services were held Friday, July 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the Alton Reformed Church. Pastor Roger Voskuil officiated. Burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery, Alton, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City.

Anton was born to Anton and Alberta Maria (Vander Mheen) Aberson on Nov. 24, 1894 in Oostenbaack, Holland. At the age of 15 he came to America.

On Jan. 1, 1925 he married Julia Scholten at Alton. They farmed in the rural Alton area unitl moving to Alton in 1969. He retired from farming 20 years ago. Mrs. Aberson died Jan. 13, 1979.

He was a member of the Alton Reformed Church.

Survivors include two sons, Anthony, Jr., of Alton, and Henry J. of Pipestone, Minn.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia; a daughter, Betty; five brothers and one sister.
